Monument Downhill 5K

The runners had a great race on Saturday the 26th at the Monument Downhill 5K.  159th runners raced with warm conditions and some speedy times. 

Jackson Knowles came in 3rd in his age division and 15th overall with a time of 17:59 (5:48 pace).

Evan Ellison came in 3rd in his age division and 29th overall with a time of 19:25 (6:16 pace).

Cameron Wakefield came in 12th in his age division and 40th overall with a time of 20:01 (6:33 pace).

Ryan Lewis came in 4th in his age division and 43rd overall with a time of 40:43 (6:41 pace).

Alan Snow came in 5th in his age division and 44th overall with a time of 20:57 (6:45 pace).

Ethan Clark came in 15th in his age division and 68th overall with a time of 22:23 (7:13 pace).

MacKay Wakefield came in 16th in his age division and 98th overall with a time of 25:49 (8:19 pace).

Ryan Reed came in 13th in his age division and 107th overall with a time of 26:32 (8:33 pace).

Kaylan Young came in 3rd in her age division and 115th overall with a time of 27:50 (8:58 pace).

Josie Wakefield came in 4th in her age division and 116th overall with a time of 27:53 (8:59 pace).

Heather Sweeney came in 5th in her age division and 120th overall with a time of 28:08 (9:04 pace).

Tyler Moreau came in 15th in his age division and 126th overall with a time of 28:49 (9:17 pace).

Children with Hope 5k/10k

Grand County Running Club and Cross Country members made a great showing at the Children with Hope race on June 21st in Grand Junction. The Children with Hope charity exists to meet the spiritual, physical, emotional, education, and economic needs of orphaned children.  This race is a fundraiser for the Children of Hope.

Beat Beethoven

A few of our runners ran the Beat Beethoven 5K on May 10th in Grand Junction. Starting and finishing at the Avalon Theatre, runners try to finish a 5k in less than the time it takes to play Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony! Proceeds benefit the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra and the Avalon Theatre Foundation!

Evan Ellison came in 4th overall and was first in his age division with a time of 21:42.
Emmeline Heywood came in 12th overall and third in her age division with a time of 23:49.
Annie Heywood came in 20th overall with a time of 26:08.

Grand County Running Club Crushes Canyonlands Half Marathon & 5 Mile!

Our runners did an amazing job during the run on Saturday the 15th.  Good temperatures, but gusty winds made for a tough race, but runners did phenomanal all the same.
